I grew up in High Wycombe. I started learning music on classical violin at the age of 7, and studied music theory and piano at the High Wycombe Music Centre. At the age of 15 I began teaching myself guitar.
During the nineties, I composed non-commercial music for leading music library Amphonic Music in a wide variety of musical styles from rock to easy listening jazz. During this time I started occasional work as session guitarist recording in both commercial and non-commercial settings.
Throughout the years 2000 to 2012 I was the guitarist with Caribbean function dance band, PapaMengo, and performed in my acoustic guitar duo Akustiko with guitarist Russell Jarrett. I have 20 years teaching experience and have taught guitar in both primary and secondary schools.
